Over 1 million travelers a year

Annually, about 1 million passengers will travel via the port terminal. There are short distances between buses, speedboats and express routes. The port terminal is intended for activity and social contact on the large areas of the river. Several dining places, shops and tourist information can also be found here. The prosthetic should be attractive for both the traveler and the city’s population.

Eco-friendly choices

It is important for Tromsø Harbor to take care of the environment and be as climate-friendly as a port can be. Therefore, we have taken a number of steps to reduce our carbon footprints during the development of Tromsø Harbor Prostneset. For the heating of quays, squares and buildings, a combination of heated seawater and district heating is used.

Central commercial area

The place has been a central commercial area for hundreds of years. From the 1250s the city’s churchyard was here. In the 1900s, the area became a junction with quays, taxi and bus stops. We must take care of the story and bring it on.
